Old Town Albuquerque is a unique historic district made up of more than 150 independent shops and restaurants. Once a month, the businesses in Old Town stay open late for Old Town 2nd Saturday Nights, providing a unique opportunity to enjoy an enchanted evening in one of the city's most vibrant neighborhoods. The next Old Town 2nd Saturday Night takes place on January 11 from 5 pm to 8 pm and is within walking distance of many Albuquerque homes for sale.
- Third Thursday at the Albuquerque Museum - 2000 Mountain Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104
On the third Thursday of every month, the Albuquerque Museum stays open after hours for a series of unique family-oriented public exhibits and programs known as Third Thursdays. These events are always different and always open to the public, free of charge. The next Third Thursday at the Albuquerque Museum takes place on January 16 and will include a series of activities from 5 pm to 8 pm, including a Youth Art Museum Crawl.

Fans of comic books, sci-fi, fantasy, and gaming will want to mark their calendars for January 17-19, when the annual Albuquerque Comic Con returns to the Albuquerque Convention Center. The convention promises to offer an exciting array of vendors and displays. Numerous special guests, including Lord of the Rings' Sean Astin and John Rhys-Davies, will also be in attendance.
- Sea Turtle Awareness Day at ABQ BioPark Aquarium - 2601 Central Ave NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104
January 18 is Sea Turtle Awareness Day at the ABQ BioPark Aquarium, highlighting the unique place that sea turtles occupy in the global ecosystem and in the public imagination. With hands-on crafts, activities, and exhibits, it's a great way to spend an afternoon with kids. The event is included in the admission price to the aquarium, which also includes an array of spectacular animal attractions.

Albuquerque is known as the hot air balloon capital of the world thanks to its ideal landscape and climate, which has led to the establishment of the city's own hot air balloon festival and museum. The Balloon Museum hosts monthly S.T.E.A.M. Nights, which include fun, kid-friendly activities related to science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. The next S.T.E.A.M. Night takes place on February 1 and will highlight the story of Zozobra, plus food trucks and live music.
